AP English has given me such a newfound level appreciation and love for this song. What an incredible use of metaphor and allegory. I had already thought this was the best song off of this amazing album, but now I’m sure it’s one of my favorite songs of all time.

Kurt Cobain was a druggy that didn’t really give a fuck about religion, same with Jimi Hendrix (he was more spiritual). Freddie Mercury was gay, Jim Morrison also failed to “abstain,” and Elvis was the bane of Christian mothers everywhere. I could care less about Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, or whoever the hell the lady in the bottom middle is.
Amy Winehouse was a druggie as well, and Michael Jackson was born a Jehovah’s Witness, but then stopped practicing religion all together. I think he was irreligious for most of his life.

I just really wish I was musically/rhythmically talented. I can’t sing, I can’t dance, and I suck at an instrument I’ve been playing for 7 years. The worst part is, my dad can sing, my cousin is amazing at piano, and my little sisters can both dance. Fuck you heredity.
